The Wisdom Tooth Extraction Process
To remove your wisdom teeth, we will first need to determine if they are impacted, which means they are beneath the gumline, or if they have partially erupted and are slightly visible. This will help us decide which method of extraction to pursue – simple or surgical.
If the teeth are partially visible, we will use dental forceps and a dental elevator to lift each tooth from its socket and gently move it back and forth until it detaches. If teeth are impacted, surgery will be required that involves making incisions in the gums and removing the underlying tooth in sections. This prevents further damage to the bone and allows for a more seamless extraction process.
